Celebrating Alex’s 21st birthday. My youngest Granddaughter.
I usually write a short poem for these occasions and this is my latest effort.

Today is special for someone extra special we know
A 21st birthday, so we are putting on a bit of show
she’s all grown up and making her way in the world
earning real dosh and enjoying life so we’ve heard
she looks after the sick and crotchety old folk like us
but wer’e doing OK and we don’t like making a fuss
A real Florence Nightingale destined to make her mark
and no slouch on the water surfing like the Cutty Sark
because of Covid we haven’t seen her for quite a while
but here today we can all enjoy her infectious smile
So dear Alex we raise our glasses to you this special day
and wish you long life and happiness ‘Hip hip Hooray.’
